A mum says she was left stunned when a stranger shouted at her young son to "shut up" while he had a tantrum in Primark.
Paula Moosa said she was trying to soothe her crying son Charlie, aged three, when the woman snapped and screamed: "For God sake, shut it up."
The 25-year-old Hull mum-of-two snapped back at the woman, telling her "You shut up".
Miss Moosa told HullLive that the stranger then got in her face and told her to "f*** off" and flipped her the bird before storming away.
The woman's shouting stunned Charlie so much that he stopped crying, said Miss Moosa, who snapped a photo of a shopper who allegedly confronted her.
Miss Moosa said Charlie was "having an off day" and threw a tantrum because he was tired and wanted sweets while they were out shopping in Hull city centre.
She said: "I was in Primark, sitting down on the bit where you try shoes on, waiting for my sister and my son Charlie was crying because he was tired and wanted sweets.
"I said, 'no, not until we get out of the shop', so he carried on crying. Then a woman, who was sat next to me, then shouted 'for God sake, shut it up.'
