Despite being more private about her diet, beauty routine, and general lifestyle since she became the Duchess of Sussex, it is evident Meghan is passionate about skincare. As she approaches 40, her skin is just as taught, clear, and flawless as it was when she was 20 years old. What are Meghan’s ageing secrets?
From face massages to products that give off the natural no make-up make-up look, Meghan has previously spoken about her beauty and skincare routine.
Before becoming a member of the royal family, the Duchess of Sussex even ran a lifestyle blog called The Tig, which focused on food, travel, fashion, and beauty.
Over the years, Meghan has stressed the importance of watching after one’s skin.
She told Best Health in 2015: “As I’m getting older, my approach to ageing is quite different.
“I make sure that I take care of my skin and body, especially with the work hours I have.”
Meghan worked as an actor, playing the role of Rachel Zane in Suits until 2018.
In 2014, the Duchess told Birchbox that she does facial exercises and massages her face to decrease the early signs of ageing.
Speaking about a routine developed by aesthetician Nicola Joss, she said: “I swear it works, as silly as you may feel.
“On the days I do it, my cheekbones and jawline are way more sculpted.”
As for make-up, Meghan is known to be a fan of primer instead of foundation.
In 2017, she spoke about wearing Laura Mercier Illuminating Primer.
She explained: “I don’t wear foundation unless I’m filming so this is what I put on every day after moisturiser to give my skin a dewy glow.”
Speaking to celebrity magazine People, Meghan highlighted the importance of washing one’s face before going to bed.
She enjoyed using “cleansing cloths” to remove any make-up from her face, saying: “They’re great to keep in the car and on your nightstand when you have those horribly lazy nights that the thought of getting up to actually wash your face seems unbearable.”
Another of Meghan’s anti-ageing tricks is to use a face serum.
In 2017, she told fashion and lifestyle blog The Lady Loves Couture that she likes to wear a product called Quench Hydrating Face Serum from Kate Somerville.
In the same interview, Meghan spoke about keeping her lips hydrated.
She praised a lip balm named Fresh Sugar Advanced Therapy Treatment, which has sea fennel and orange extracts.
The Duchess said: “I have searched high and low and tried every kind of lip balm, but this is the very best.
“Soft, kissable, buttery lips. I swear by it.”
As for the rest of her body, Meghan told website Beauty Banter that she moisturises every day using Nivea Skin Firming Hydration Body Lotion.
She said: “I use this religiously, it’s honestly my favorite lotion on the market.
“It’s so affordable, and makes my skin look and feel amazing.
“I would buy a case of this at a time if I could find it.”
Meghan turns 40 on August 4 and is expected to spend her special day with Harry, Archie, and Lilibet at their family home in Los Angeles.
