Buckingham Palace and Windsor Castle staff dubbed Oprah Winfrey’s interview with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle “Moperah.”
Insiders at Queen Elizabeth’s royal residences came up with the term after seeing the whiney early trailers released by CBS, The Sun reported. The interview does not air in the UK until Monday night.
Four clips were released in the week before Sunday’s bombshell interview by CBS and Oprah Winfrey’s producers.
They included Meghan accusing “The Firm” of spreading lies, Oprah asking her if she was “silenced” and Harry, 36, referring to his mother Diana, saying he fears “history repeating itself”
It was also reported that royal staff described Prince Harry as Meghan Markle’s “hostage” before the couple left for their new life in the US.
They said they were living in a “climate of fear” where they were humiliated and subjected to unreasonable demands.
They added it was “disgusting” that senior royals – including the Queen, Prince Charles and William – were given no advance details of what was in their pre-recorded two-hour interview.
The Queen is not expected to watch the interview, but would be briefed this morning by aides about its contents.
