We are still in October and yet there have already been a lot of amazing advent calendars available to buy. Some are filled with wine, some with cheese and others are crammed full of beauty products.
Long gone are the days of a little chocolate or picture hidden behind a door, now you can most likely get whatever you love for 24 days straight in miniature form.
However, for any of you Potterhead’s out there, Primark have revealed the pièce de résistance of advent calendars; one modelled on The Hogwarts Express, the train from Harry Potter.
The wooden toy comes complete with a train pulling a carriage and has 24 little draws for storing whatever chocolates or treats you see fit to stock it with.
The advent calendar, which is on sale at high street favourite Primark, costs £15, although obviously to make it functional buyers may have to spend a little more purchasing treats to fill it.
Posting a video to their Instagram, Primark said: “Fresh from Platform 9¾, our Harry Potter Hogwarts Express advent calendar has arrived into selected stores.
"Fill the drawers with whatever magical treats you like and wait patiently for the start of December… Anyone else now ridiculously excited to start the Christmas countdown already?! Advent Calendar £15/€17 #Primark #HarryPotter #HogwartsExpress #ChristmasCountdownIsOn.”

For those that are not Harry Potter fans the Howarts Express is the train the transports students from Kings Cross Station in London to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, that Harry and his friends attend in the franchise.
Aside from being a delightful Christmassy countdown for both children and adults, the advent calendar is also a sustainable alternative to the many single use advent calendars on the market.
The release of this comes after the John Lewis partnership, which owns Waitrose and John Lewis, recently announced that it would no longer be featuring plastic items in their Christmas crackers is a welcome change. In a move towards sustainability the group have announced that instead the festive trinkets and toys will be made from metal or recyclable paper.
Additionally, there will be no more plastic glitter on the material used to wrap the crackers and they will instead be embossed with festive motifs, and the same will be the case for a lot of the own-brand Christmas wrapping paper.
Although many firms are moving towards a more sustainable festive period, that doesn’t mean it has to be boring – it can be magical instead!
