As we all bunker down, wash our hands, and try to stay safe admist the spreading coronavirus, we can at least look to Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson (a.k.a. America's parents) as a source of calm and sturdiness.
The couple, both of whom recently tested positive for COVID-19, have been in quarantine, and on Friday, Wilson shared a playlist she made for anyone else who's self-quarantining at the moment — aptly called "Quarantunes."
It includes, of course, a couple of songs from Wilson herself, as well as some appropriate tracks: Carole King's "So Far Away" and "Survivor" by Destiny's Child.
Earlier this week, Hanks and Wilson announced they both tested positive for coronavirus while in Australia as Hanks was working on Baz Lurhmann's upcoming Elvis Presley biopic (which has now been put on hold). "We Hanks’ will be tested, observed, and isolated for as long as public health and safety requires," Hanks wrote on Instagram. "Not much more to it than a one-day-at-a-time approach, no? We’ll keep the world posted and updated."

In another reassuring update, he wrote, "We have Covid-19 and are in isolation so we do not spread it to anyone else. There are those for whom it could lead to a very serious illness. We are taking it one-day-at-a-time. There are things we can all do to get through this by following the advice of experts and taking care of ourselves and each other, no? Remember, despite all the current events, there is no crying in baseball."

Hanks's son Colin also shared an update on his parents this week, writing on Instagram, "We are so grateful for the outpouring of support from everyone. My parents are receiving excellent care in Australia and are doing well (and in good spirits) given the circumstances. Despite the fact that I’m in L.A. and haven’t seen them in over three weeks, we have been in constant contact and am confident that they will make a full recovery."
Hanks and Wilson's son Chet also weighed in with a shirtless update, telling Instagram followers, “Wassup everyone. Yeah, it’s true, my parents got Coronavirus. Crazy…. They both are fine. They're not even that sick. They're not worried about it. They're not trippin' but they're going through the necessary health precautions obviously. I don't think it's anything to be too worried about. I appreciate everyone's concern and the well wishes. I think it's all going to be alright. I appreciate it. Everybody stay safe out there. Much love."
