A mum has been left feeling sick after realising exactly how filthy supermarket fruit and vegetables can be.
Amy Hitch shared a clip of herself using a fruit and vegetable cleaner from Amazon with disturbing results.
It shows her placing the cleaning device into a bowl of tap water with grapes.
Within minutes, the bowl gets filled with dirt and grime. Amy then shows a similar result after cleaning blueberries.
‘SERIOUSLY JUST BOUGHT THIS FRUIT TODAY. I did the grapes twice!! I cant! I will never go back. WHAT THE ACTUAL HELL!!!’ she wrote on the now viral clip.

The US-based mum’s video went viral on TikTok where it has been seen more than 27million times.
‘What in the hell is all of that’ she narrates the clip.
‘This is what we eat,’ she adds, before gagging.
‘This is so freaking nasty. We need to watch what we eat,’ she went on.

Reacting to the murky water, people quickly reacted with disgust.
‘Thank you for raising awareness about this,’ wrote one.
‘OMG, I had no idea… I just give them a quick rinse under the sink,’ added another.
‘Running to get one right now,’ commented a third.

Dozens of TikTokers have used the device, leaving them shocked with the dirt and murky water that comes off
However, others were less shocked, with some commenting how it was obvious why vegetables would be covered in dirt.
‘Are people forgetting fruit comes from the ground?’ said one.
‘Fruits and vegetables are grown outside,’ added another.
‘Am I the only one who really doesn’t care about eating that?’ wrote a third.
The $32 product claims to ‘quickly remove residue on food and purify fruits and vegetables in a matter of minutes’.
Amy is one of many Tiktokers who have used the product, with many claiming it has ‘changed their lives’ and ‘shocked them’.
However, others branded it a ‘solution to a non-existent problem’ and suggested people can clean with vinegar instead.
