Sophie, Countess of Wessex and Prince Edward, both 56, are both working members of the Royal Family. They are the parents of Lady Louise Windsor, 17, and James, Viscount Severn, 13.
While their children mostly stay out of the spotlight, they have attended some engagements.
These include official royal events such as Trooping the Colour and the Christmas royal church service.
In recent months, Lady Louise and James joined their parents for the Great British Beach Clean at Southsea Beach.
During such outings, body language expert Judi James explained how the children are similar to their parents.
She explained the body language of Lady Louise seems to show a lot in common with her mother.
“Louise looks increasingly like a more serious version of her mother,” Judi told Express.co.uk.
“[She was either] working with her father to pick up the rubbish or keeping her eye on her brother while he gets on with the job.”
When Sophie and Lady Louise were seen together, the expert suggested they have shown “like-minded thinking”.
She continued: “When the two women stand together then lean in towards one another subtly, mirroring their poses to suggest like-minded thinking.”
The Countess has shown herself to take the lead in her family dynamic and help to “encourage” her children, Judi said.
“Sophie’s confidence signals show her as being the more socially active one in the team dynamic,” the expert continued.
“Her encouraging and proud smile is teamed with the kind of spatial gap you’d get between friends, allowing Sophie’s daughter to be seen and to feel like a confident adult in public.
“The wide, shared grin that Sophie throws to Louise and the ‘pinging’ eye-laugh makes this look very much like a friendship as well as a mother-daughter relationship.”
While the Countess of Wessex and Lady Louise show similarities, Judi suggested James picked up some habits from his father.
This could be seen when James was spotted playing “pranks” when with his sister.
The expert added: “James clearly likes playing pranks on his sister, which could mean he’s inherited the Windsor sense of humour from his father.”
When Sophie is with her children, she will often show her affection.
The expert claimed she does this without “over-fussing” over the young royals.
Judi explained: “As a family group Sophie even clutches her bag in front of her torso with both hands to avoid any announcement rituals that might suggest she’s going to be more tactile with her son or her husband.
“This does cause some drawing in of the arms to the torso and some upward hunching of her shoulders to suggest inner tension but that’s not resulting in any over-fussing of her children.
“The way that her daughter mirrors her pose shows strong admiration for her mother.”
