Pleasing everybody with the Strictly Come Dancing line-up is an almost impossible task for the BBC casting team.

With millions of loyal viewers of the show it's always going to be a challenge to get it right. This year, some fans are complaining the celebrities aren't well known enough to take part.

In response to the line-up which includes our very own OK! columnist Judi Love and McFly superstar Tom Fletcher, one person wrote, "Recognise 6 out 15. Got to be the worst year for me yet".

While others remarked, "Can you explain who they are?", "Who the hell are these people?" and "I know three of them, and the rest I've never heard of. Don't think I will be watching it this year. No characters to associate, with this series".

While some fans may be initially disappointed, Strictly has the power to make us fall in love with celebrities who's names we might not have previously known or taken notice of.

While you may not have known these names before, it's likely you do now…

Seann Walsh

The stand-up comedian had a niche fan base before he joined the show in 2018. It wasn't long before everybody knew his name (for possibly the wrong reasons) when he was caught kissing his married professional dancer Katya Jones on his then-girlfriend's birthday. He has since incorporated the incident into his comedy material, and now has a podcast called 'What's Upset You Now?'. Emily Atack was recently a guest and admitted I'm a Celeb bosses locked her mini fridge to stop her boozing.

The YouTube star was pretty big on the platform but unrecognisable to those who didn't watch her videos. After appearing in 2019, Saffron herself noted that different people than she was used to came to talk to her in the streets. Now the Brighton-based YouTube star has even secured a big fashion deal with In The Style and has appeared on Channel 4's The Circle.

Ranvir Singh

Before partaking in the show last year, Ranvir had a smaller role on Good Morning Britain. Following her popularity and interest in her life including a rumoured romance with partner Giovanni Pernice, the bosses capitalised on her star power and promoted her from Political Editor to one of the main hosts. She's also regularly stood in as a guest presenter on Lorraine, while Lorraine Kelly takes holiday and also appears on Loose Women as a panellist. They are working her hard at ITV!

Karim Zeroual

The children's TV presenter was mainly known by the viewers of CBBC and their parents. His dancing talent was revealed on the 2019 series, with him even scoring the first perfect 40 for his Hairspray-inspired jive. His career took a different turn after the show when he joined Celebs Go Dating: The Mansion, and now counts Wayne Lineker and Curtis Pritchard as close friends. While his performance skills are so impressive that he's joined professional dancers Graziano Di Prima, Pasha Kovalev and Aljaž Škorjanec on the tour Here Come The Boys.

She was well known in the sporting world for her impressive footballing career for both Chelsea and England. In fact, she was the second most capped England player with 140 appearances when she retired in 2017. Her sports pundit career has gone from strength to strength since she won over audiences on Strictly in 2019. Alex, who has a gorgeous 1.5 million London home, even took a seat beside Claire Balding for the recent Toyko 2020 Olympics coverage.
