These homeware and fashion retailers have started to open stores again, just in time for some Bank Holiday shopping

Matalan have started to reopen stores across the country.

The fashion and homeware retailer Matalan has started to reopen stores after it had to closed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The fashion and homeware retailer begun opening stores this week, with 15 stores opening across the country, although stores in Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland will remain closed.

The brand, which is classified as an essential retailer, originally closed their stores eight weeks ago but have begun to reopen larger stores where it is easier for shoppers and staff to engage in social distancing measures.

The first Matalan stores to open will be the larger stores in out of town retail parks. These have big homeware sections and also offer click and collect services.

The essential retailer is known for their amazing homeware section at great prices and with most of us spending nearly 24/7 at home now, we are all after some interior updates or some great garden buys to spruce up our surroundings.

While Matalan has 232 stores across the UK, the retailer plans to open just 15 stores right now, all of which are big enough for social distancing and have their own car park, once again allowing them to encourage safety procedures for staff and shoppers.

The 15 stores that are set to reopen according to industry magazine Drapers include: Basildon, Bradford Green Gates, Bolton, Cortonwood, Darlington, Halifax, Leeds Halton, Luton, Milton Keynes, Osterley Park/Southall, Rotherham, Southport, Stockton, Truro, Walsall – North

And Matalan isn't the only homeware retailer that has opened its doors in time for the Bank Holiday. Bargain homeware store Dunhelm has also opened 39 stores. Dunhelm, like Matalan offers a great range of homeware items, perfect for Bank Holiday sprucing. Similarly to Matalan, Dunhelm has also implemented social distancing measures.
