A van driver has been caught waving his mobile phone in the air while driving along a dual carriageway.
The man was spotted travelling along the A34, near Oxford – a stretch of road that has seen numerous fatal crashes in recent years.
Footage shows the driver in an APT Global Solutions van, holding his phone in the air in front of him and waving it around for several seconds.
The driver who captured the incident on his dashcam slammed the driver's actions as "beyond belief" and said he shouldn't be allowed on the road.
The driver, who wanted to remain anonymous, told the Mirror Online: "I didn't know if he was trying to get some signal.
"I had a quick glance as I went past and he was just constantly on his phone – He went past about three lay-bys where he could have pulled over.
"It's disgusting that he thinks that's ok – he should be off the roads – Driving like that he could kill someone.
"You can see cars 100ft in front of him – if anyone had needed to stop suddenly there's no way he would've been able to stop.
"I see drivers doing this sort of thing along this stretch of road every day – there needs to be a way of catching them.
"This stretch has seen two bad accidents in the last couple of years – lorry driver and lorry driver – it's a renowned road and it's awful as it is.
"It was beyond belief."
APT Global Solutions said the vans are hired out to drivers and they all sign terms and conditions that state you cannot use your phone while driving.
An employee, who did not want to be named, said he knew who the driver was and said he would be speaking with him regarding the incident.
He added: "All the vehicles are fitted with hands-free kits so he has no excuse to be doing that.
"We will deal with this internally and I will be speaking with the driver."
Earlier this year Highways England confirmed a number of new measures will be implemented on the A34 following a number of deaths on the road, reports Berkshire Live.
