The first eagerly anticipated episode of “Live with Kelly and Mark,” starring married couple Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos, has garnered mixed reviews.
Many viewers chimed in accusing the married couple of “fake banter” and being boring during the hour-long show.
Ripa — who showed serious PDA with her husband during the show — was even accused of repeatedly interrupting her husband when Consuelos shared that the two had recently enjoyed a romantic stroll through Central Park.
“We used to run through the park, but now we’re -‘ he said before Ripa interjected, “We used to chase each other.”
“We saw some people who we used to see run and they were now also walking,” the “Riverdale” alum continued.
But then, Ripa interjected again saying, “It’s so funny how, I don’t know if it’s age or our knees, whatever it is, time.”

“Bruuuutal!,” tweeted one. “Last time i watch. I can go to the mall and watch teenagers kiss LESS!!! THE BEGINNING OF THE END.”
“I am so happy to see Mark & Kelly this morning….But Kelly could PLEASE LET HIM TALK….!!! OMG…!,” tweeted a second fan of the morning show. “Let him start and finish a story his way…It’s the only way it’s going work..”
Consuelos, 52, took over for Ryan Seacrest, 49, who announced in February that he would be resigning after nearly six years so he could move back to Los Angeles and focus on “American Idol.”
His final episode was on April 14, which was marked by tears and heartfelt speeches.
“I just want to say a few words to you. It’s on behalf of myself and all of us — but mostly me,” Ripa, 52, said while trying not to cry.
“This has, without question, been the fastest six years of my life, and although you and I have been friends for decades and decades, I feel like I’ve gained through this process a younger brother / oldest son.”
“I am so grateful that our success together on this show has led to us developing an even closer — yet codependent — relationship,” she said.
Page Six exclusively reported that ABC brass had been wooing Consuelos to come on board since last summer.
Execs had known Seacrest was tiring of his role and had been speaking to Consuelos about taking over co-hosting duties permanently.
In 2001, Ripa joined the chat show opposite Regis Philbin. He was replaced by Michael Strahan in 2012 and four years later by Seacrest. Consuelos often filled in as a guest host over the years.
The couple, who have been married since May 1996, share three children together: Michael, 25, Lola, 21, and Joaquin, 20.
