Woman has 2 children with half-brother and ‘wants to get married’

A woman from Barcelona, Spain, has revealed she shares two children with her half-brother and together, they are fighting for the right to marry.

Ana Parra explained how she was abandoned by her father when she was a child.

As she got older, she was aware she had a half-sibling but didn’t meet Daniel until she was 20 years old.

She revealed how she was told her “father had left” her and her mother, “to start another family and that he had had another child”.

Ana decided to search for her half-sibling and found Daniel on Facebook.

Reflecting on the first time they met, Ana said she felt chemistry between herself and Daniel.

She said: “We didn’t want to realise it, we were angry with ourselves because it was hard to admit and break that taboo: we are siblings even though we didn’t feel that way.

“We were partying, we approached each other slowly and gave each other our first kiss.”

But, the pair apparently pretended nothing had happened between them and “went our separate ways”, “ashamed of what had just happened”.

Daniel said: “That kiss broke all barriers, marked a before and after, it was like a reality check.”

Ana and Daniel tried to keep their distance, but met up a few days later – and according to the Daily Mail, have been inseparable ever since.

A couple of years later, when on holiday in London, the half-siblings felt comfortable enough acting like a couple in public and decided to come clean about their relationship.

And earlier this year, Ana and Daniel appeared on Spanish television to share their unlikely love story.

“We didn’t feel like telling everyone our story one by one, so that’s why we decided to tell it this way,” Ana explained.

However, there has been widespread criticism in response to their relationship, but the couple try to ignore the hurtful comments.

Ana and Daniel have two children together – aged five and three. Their children are aware that their parents are also half-siblings, but Ana says they’re “too young to understand”.

In terms of the next steps, the couple is hoping to get legally married in Spain. But consensual incest between adults is legal in Spain, but the Spanish Civil Code prohibits marriage between direct relatives.

Ana commented: “Societies must advance and not cling to traditionalism. Homosexuals were also not allowed to marry and now they can.”

She said she and Daniel “love each other” and “that is what should prevail”.

She argued they are “not harming anyone” with their relationship, and “that is why we want people to know our story”.
