A furious woman has claimed she is ‘scarred for life’ after her skin became ‘stuck’ to a hotel radiator that was ‘so hot you could cook an egg on it’.
Briony Anne, 25, from Doncaster, Yorkshire, claimed that she accidentally caught her back on a bathroom towel rail for a ‘split second’ and believes she has been left with ‘second degree burns’.
Briony, who has a Covid-19 hotel pass for work purposes, said the accident took place while she was preparing to check out of the Best Western Plus Pastures Hotel in Mexborough, Doncaster, on March 16.
She told the ExaminerLive that she had been drying off after a shower when her back made contact with the rail for a ‘split second’ and her skin immediately ‘stuck to it’.
Briony Anne, 25, from Doncaster, Yorkshire, claimed she has been left with ‘second degree burns’ (pictured) after accidentally catching her back on a hotel bathroom towel rail
Briony also claimed that the ‘scorching hot’ towel rail was so warm she could have ‘cooked’ an egg on it, insisting it didn’t need to be that temperature to dry towels.
She told the publication: ‘I know if I put an egg on that it’d cook and a steak would sizzle if it touched it.
‘It was beyond hot, it was scorching hot – it doesn’t need to be that hot to dry towels.
‘If a child grabbed hold of that it would bubble all their skin up, it’s that hot it’s ridiculous.’

Briony said she was in a ‘rush’ so didn’t mention it when she checked out but returned to the hotel after she noticed the burn was ‘weeping’ when she got home,
She claimed she was told no manager was available for ‘a few days’.
She also claimed that she has since rang the hotel and was told the maintenance man was shown a picture of her back, before he checked the towel rail and said it ‘met the manufacturer’s specifications’.
She continued: ‘I said the thing is, whether it meets them [the specifications] or not, that radiator has got to be going up to 200 degrees to burn my skin like that?’
Briony also claimed that she has not been able to have a bath since due to the pain and said she plans to go to the doctor if the burn gets any worse.
