A woman has revealed how she turned a grubby, disused space at the back of her house into a little slice of garden paradise for under £500.
Levi Horton, from Wigan, wanted to make use of her outdoor space, consisting of a 2m sq alley behind her house.
Sharing pictures of the garden before and after its transformation, Levi told the We Love Mrs Hinch Facebook group she felt ‘made up’ by the new garden.
She told Mailonline how her partner fitted some fake grass on the floor and used repurposed wood pallets to create planters and mini decking.
Levi Horton, from Wigan, had only a tiny outdoor area in the form of a 2m sq alley at the back of her house, with much of the space taken up by a wooden shed
After the transformation, the grimey walls and floors were gone, replaced by neat white paint and fake grass
Before pictures show the disuses space with bare concrete and no decorations.
The garden was full of rain water and its white walls were covered in muddy sludge due to bad weather.
A wooden shed was taking most of the space at the back of the garden, so much so that Levi could not use the terrace at all.
‘It took three weekends to finish, and we had a £500 budget, however we were under,’ Levi said.
A shed used to tal up all the free space of the garden, but Levi’s partner tore it down to create this lovely sitting area
The outside area was tidied and covered in fake grass and lined with wooden planters made of reclaimed wood (pictured)
In order to complete the project, Levi’s partner started by getting rid of the shed and decking in order to gain some precious space.
He also painted over the outside walls and window ledges with white and gray masonry paint for a sleeker look.
He then covered the stone floor with fake grass he received for free from a friend.
To decorate, the couple made borders and wall planters with reclaimed wood pallets, which they painted in grey.
They placed a patio set in the space where the shed used to be, along with a shelf for decorations and flowers.
They also equipped the outdoor space with candles and garlands of fairy light for ambiance.
Levi and her partner decorated their outdoor space with lots of plants and flowers as well as this black chiminea
The couple used wooden pallets to create planters, and brightened up the space with fairy lights and a Moroccan-style lantern

Levi shared the pictures on Facebook saying how happy she was about the ‘successful’ lockdown project
The space alongside the house’s wall was also done up and lined with lovely flowers and plants in the wooden planters and some pebbles.
Levi said all the accessories were bought at B&Q and Lidl, to make sure they stayed within budget.
‘We only have a tiny garden, but we are so made up with our before and after. Lockdown project successful,’ she wrote on Facebook.
