Adele, 34, appeared to be clearly overcome with emotion at her Las Vegas concert on Friday (January 27) night after a fan showed her a photograph of his late wife as she walked through the audience.

The pop superstar, who is currently in the middle of a five-month residency in Sin City took to TikTok after the show to explain the reason for her tears.

The 34-year old spotted the man holding his phone above the crowd while touching his heart and subsequently dedicated her hit song 'Someone Like You' to him once she'd made it back to the stage.

In a video published on the social media platform, Adele could be heard telling the audience: "When I walk through the crowd, I wish you could see what I can see."

She continued: "I know I talk to a few people every night, but then I just see little stories of people happening.

"There was a man, he's just there, can you see him holding his phone up? I think that's his wife on his phone, and I don't think she's here, and it just really moved me.

"It looks like you're here on your own and I'm just so, so sorry for your loss, and I didn't realise what you were showing me until I was over here."

The TikTok clip from the night, which has been viewed almost 13 million times, proved emotional with fans too.

One commented: "Crying because he looked so content even if Adele didn’t notice, like he was happy knowing his wife would’ve loved just seeing what he’s seeing."

Another wrote: "He wasn’t even doing it for Adele’s attention. He genuinely looked happy holding his wife up & enjoying the moment as if she was there. My heart."

A third added: "She’s so sweet , I hope he finds peace that his wife loved this moment for him."

And a fourth said: "Her heart is truly bigger than her voice & her voice is bigger that the world. That sweet man, we should all be loved the way he loves his wife."

In another emotional moment earlier in the residency, meanwhile, two superfans of the star revealed they had used inheritance money to buy tickets to her pricy Vegas show after their mother passed away.

The pair were given the opportunity to speak to Adele during her New Year's Eve concert as they confessed to using the inheritance money from their mother's death to pay to see her.

Speaking to the star during her concert in front of thousands of spectators, the fans said: "My mum died when I was younger," to which Adele told she was "so sorry".

The fan continued, saying: "And we’re here for her legacy. We paid with her inheritance."
