AceShowbizAugust Alsina‘s new music is coming sooner than later. Making use of social media, the former Def Jam Recordings artist announced that his upcoming album will arrive this week.

Taking to Instagram on Wednesday, March 8, the 30-year-old shared the cover art of the project. He captioned it, ” ‘Myself’ the album drops 3-10-23. [Swipe Left] pre-order linked in bio.”

The announcement arrived after he shut down a report suggesting he laughed at Chris Rock‘s Netflix special. A source previously told The Post, “August watched the Netflix special and he laughed… He thought it was not only funny but truthful. That was the best part for him.”

However, a representative for August told Entertainment Tonight that the report was untrue. “Mr. Alsina has not seen Chris Rock’s special at all, as he’s been busy on tour,” the rep declared.

In “Chris Rock: Selective Outrage” which premiered on Saturday, March 4, Chris hit back at Will Smith, who slapped him onstage at the 2022 Academy Awards. “I got smacked at the f**king Oscars by this mother**ker. And people are like, ‘Did it hurt?’ It still hurts!” the comic said.

The “Grown Ups” star pointed out his and Will’s size difference, saying that Will played Muhammad Ali while he played Pookie in “New Jack City“. “Yes it hurt. It still hurts. I got ‘Summertime’ ringing in my ears. My f**king drums bleed,” so he claimed.

He then made a reference to Jada Pinkett Smith‘s entanglement with August. He joked that Will practices “selective outrage” by slapping him instead of the singer, who had an affair with his wife. “Everyone called Will a b***h, ” for putting up with Jada’s affair, “but I’m the one he hit,” he said. “A n***a knows he can beat. That is some b***h a** s**t.”
