Billie Eilish opens up about suicidal thoughts after struggling with fame

Bond singer Billie Eilish has revealed she thought about suicide after becoming overwhelmed with fame.

The teen sensation told how she nearly leapt out of a hotel window in 2018.

Billie, 18, told a US chat show: “I don’t want to be too dark, but I genuinely didn’t think I’d make it to 17.

“I think about this one time I was in Berlin, and I was alone in my hotel and I remember there was a window right there.

“God, I remember crying because I was thinking about the way that I was gonna die.”

The singer from Los Angeles will become the youngest person to sing the James Bond theme tune on No Time to Die.

She has also been nominated for six Grammy Awards ahead of tomorrow night’s ceremony.

Billie said her amazing success and subsequent loss of friends who could not relate to it left her lonely and clinically depressed.

She ignored the suicidal thoughts because she thought about her mum, actress Maggie Baird, 60, who helped get her into therapy.

Billie said her mum checks in with her “all the time”.

Her debut album When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? was a chart-topping smash hit.

After the big revelation that she would be singing the theme tune, she said: “It feels crazy to be part of this in every way.

“James Bond is the coolest film franchise ever to exist.”

The last two Bond themes, Adele’s Skyfall and Sam Smith’s Writing’s On The Wall from Spectre, both won an Oscar.
