Boy George was left "devastated" after the star's mum Dinah O'Dowd died at the age of 84.
The heartbreaking news was confirmed by the I'm A Celebrity star's representatives as they revealed he is "devastated" by the loss.
They added that Dinah was surrounded by her loving family – including the chart-topper- at her passing as they asked for privacy at this emotional time.
The Karma Chameleon singer has four brothers and one sister – with his sister Siobhan meeting him on the wooden bridge after his recent stint on the most recent series of I'm A Celeb.
Back in April 2020, the supportive mother underwent surgery for "heart and lung problems" and returned home from hospital after two days.
In November, Dinah spoke of her love for her son and confessed she was "not surprised" when he almost quit I'm A Celebrity in her honour.
After MP Matt Hancock's controversial arrival in the Australian camp, George explained how his mother almost died during the coronavirus pandemic when she was in hospital in Greenwich, London.
Now his famous friends and adoring fans have flooded to social media to pay tribute to his late mum online.
DJ Fat Tony – who is a close friend of the hitmaker – took to Instagram to pay tribute to his mother with a sweet black and white snap of her online.
He captioned the meaningful post: "God bless you, you amazing woman. Dinah ….. my heart goes out to @boygeorgeofficial and the entire O'Dowd family. What an incredible, beautiful, strong woman. We will miss you" which he signed off with a kiss.
The pop star had a close relationship with his mum who brought him and his five siblings up alone after his dad walked out on the family following a difficult marriage.
George previously talked about his tumultuous relationship with his father – who died in 2003 – back in 2017 when he appeared on Piers Morgan's Life Stories.
He recalled: "My dad was quite an extreme man. [He] could lose his temper and chuck the entire Sunday dinner over and everybody went hungry.
"It wasn't until I got to about 15 or 16 that I realised how strong my mum was," he confessed.
