BTS: Big Hit Music Announces V Tested Positive for COVID-19

On Feb. 15, Big Hit Music announced that V of BTS just tested positive for the coronavirus (COVID-19). The label published the announcement on Weverse. Big Hit Music’s announcement revealed that V did see Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, and Jungkook in person recently, but the other BTS members have tested negative for the coronavirus since V’s diagnosis.

Big Hit Music published a new announcement on Weverse on Feb. 15. In the Weverse post, the company shared with BTS fans that V tested positive for the coronavirus after feeling “mild” symptoms.

The beginning of the announcement reads:

“Hello.

This is BIGHIT MUSIC.

We would like to provide you with some information regarding the health of BTS member V.

V visited the hospital Tuesday afternoon on the 15th after experiencing a mild sore throat and took the PCR test. He was diagnosed with COVID-19 tonight.”

The BTS singer is resting ‘at home’

In the Weverse post, Big Hit Music assured ARMY that V is vaccinated against the coronavirus and does not have severe symptoms. For the time being, the BTS singer is resting “at home.”

“V completed two rounds of COVID-19 vaccinations and is not presenting any extraordinary symptoms other than a mild fever and sore throat. He is currently undergoing treatment at home while waiting for further guidelines from the health care authorities,” Big Hit Music wrote on Weverse.

According to Big Hit Music, V did recently see Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, and Jungkook in person on Feb. 12. However, the members have so far tested negative for the coronavirus since seeing V.

Big Hit Music wrote in the Weverse statement:

“There was contact with the other members on Saturday the 12th, but everyone was wearing a mask, and there was no close contact. None of the BTS members other than V are presenting any symptoms, and everyone received negative results from the preemptive self-tests.

The company places the artists’ health as our top priority and we will do everything we can to aid V in his speedy recovery. We will also diligently cooperate with the requests and guidelines of the health care authorities.

Thank you.”

V is the fifth member of BTS to test positive for the coronavirus over the past few months. Jin, Suga, and RM tested positive in December 2021 and recovered in early January. Jimin tested positive and recovered earlier in February.

In March, the septet is expected to put on Permission to Dance On Stage – Seoul concerts. BTS are also expected to release a new album sometime in 2022.
