Carol Vorderman, 60, thrills fans as white mesh crochet dress turns see-through

Carol Vorderman was left humming and hawing on Saturday morning, struggling to decide between two summery outfit options as temperatures soar in the UK.

With over 400,000 Twitter followers to her name, the radio host, 60, took advantage of her hefty fanbase and decided to seek out some wardrobe advice.

Carol shared photos of two outfits to her feed – the first was a cotton pencil skirt with a khaki blouse on top, knotted at the waist, paired with some caramel suede boots.

The second option was a white crochet dress with full sleeves, ribbed detailing at the waist and a cropped slip underneath.

While Carol decided to wear the first look, she appeared to regret it, as she branded the second ensemble as a "fashion maybe" in the caption.

Musing over the two looks, Carol penned: "Couldn't make my mind up what to wear this morning…..cream dress or the khaki ensemble?!?!!!

"I went for the skirt thing in the end….#FashionMaybes."

Having been a fixture on British television for the past four decades, Carol has honed her personal sense of style over the years, learning a trick or two when it comes to the wardrobe department.

During a 2014 interview with HELLO! Online, the former Countdown star explained she dresses to enhance her natural body shape, prioritising comfort above all else.

"Show off the good and don't stress about the bits you don't like so much, because that is just a waste of time," she said.

"If you want to wear a miniskirt, you go girl! Just do it. I wouldn't wear a miniskirt now because my legs aren't what they used to be ten years ago, but it's whatever you're psychologically comfortable with.

"Just make sure you don't push the boundary with what you wear just because that's what fashion dictates."

The broadcaster, who currently hosts a show for BBC Radio Wales, also stressed the importance of body confidence, urging her fans to be kinder to themselves.

"In the high fashion world, the models are very tall and very thin," she said.

"But don't try and emulate a body shape that you aren't, because you'll only ever be disappointed if you don't achieve it."
