Download Festival 2021 lineup: Who is headlining Download 2021? Full announcement

Download Festival, like many others, was forced to be cancelled due to COVID-19 restrictions. Now, Download is back in 2021 with a whole new host of performers and headliners. The bands and performers on the list are pretty extraordinary – here is the list in full.

Who is headlining Download Festival 2021?

In 2021, there will be three headliners taking to the stage.

Kiss will be the Friday night headliner, while Scottish rockers Biffy Clyro will perform on the Saturday night, and System of a Down will perform on the Sunday night to close the festival.

Speaking of landing the gig, Biffy Clyro said: “We can’t wait to return to headline Download in 2021!

“It’s a highlight of the festival calendar and a big part of our history as a band.

“Headlining in 2017 was special and now it’s time to celebrate again! F**k on!”

Along with their feelings, System of a Down’s Shavo Odadjian said: “We’re disappointed we weren’t able to make it over this year, but we’re looking forward to next.

“Absence makes the heart grow fonder. Mostly, we all just want to make sure everyone is provided with a safe and secure environment, so we were prepared to wait as long as we needed to.”

These bands will not be the only ones to grace the main stage, as many others will also be supporting them.

Bands such as A Day To Remember, Deftones, Korn, Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes, The Pretty Reckless, Gojira, Black Veil Brides, Volbeat, Rise Against, Alestorm, Theory, Powerwolf, Wage War, Those Damn Crows and Wayward Sons will all appear on the Main Stage across the weekend.

As well as those, some mega bands such as Mastodon, The Darkness and Poppy will be performing on the second stage.

Funeral For a Friend will also take to the stage, but this time the Avalanche Stage where they will be headlining for the first time since their last performance at Donington Park in 2015.
