Drake and Josh star Drake Bell splits from wife Janet after legal troubles

Drake Bell, former Nickelodeon star known for his role on Drake & Josh, has reportedly split from his wife Janet Von Schmeling.

Drake rose to fame on the Nickelodeon show Drake & Josh, where he played title character Drake from 2004 to 2007, and according to Page Six, the actor and his partner are “separated and are headed to divorce”.

Janet has allegedly “had enough” of the 36-year-old, who has reportedly began treatment weeks after he was seen inhaling balloons with the couple’s son in the car.

He was seen inhaling and deflating a balloon for over 30 minutes as he was sitting in a car outside his house, but it is not known if there was any substance inside.

Von Schmeling has reportedly also moved back to Florida and taken their son with her.

Drake and Janet first began dating in 2013 and got married in 2018.

A year later, Bell released his first Spanish-language song and his album followed in 2020.

He went on to change his last name to “Campana,” which is the Spanish word for Bell.

An inside source has spoken on the couple’s split and said that they will be “great co-parents” despite their break-up.

They explained: “They had some incredible, beautiful times before. He needs to focus on being healthy and they’ll be great co-parents in the future.”

They continued on: “It’s a bad moment in time for Drake, but he is a great dad when he is healthy and sober.”

This comes while the actor is currently serving a two-year probation for child endangerment, for which he was sentenced in July 2021 to two years probation and 200 hours of community service.

Authorities have said that a 15-year-old girl, who attended one of Bell’s concerts in 2017, contacted the police and claimed she had been sexually assaulted.

It was later discovered that the Nickelodeon star had “developed a relationship” online with the teenager before she attended the concert.

Drake has also been in trouble with the law before after he was sentenced to four days in jail back in 2015.

The charge came after driving while intoxicated, which became his second DUI conviction within six years.
