Eamonn Holmes shares sad post as fans rally round to say ‘I hope things improve’

Eamonn Holmes’ fans were left rallying around the TV star, gushing: “I hope thing looks up for you,” after he shared a heartbreaking post.

The 63-year-old telly veteran is no stranger to keeping his followers updated on his everyday life and recent health struggles.

In recent months Eamonn has faced a chronic health battle and has had to undergo life-threatening surgery to correct his problems.

However, weeks after his initial operation, Eamonn broke his shoulder after he tumbled down the stairs at his home.

Then in February, he was spotted using a wheelchair as he arrived at Wembley Stadium for a football match.

The journalist appears to be a lot better though, as he has returned to work at GB News while documenting his ongoing recovery with his social media followers.

But on Tuesday (March 28) Eamonn took to his Instagram to share a heartbreaking throwback snap of him with his family.

In the picture, taken a year ago, Eamonn beamed for the camera while sitting on a sofa alongside his two brothers and his mum.

He captained the post with a heartbreaking caption, writing: “A couple of my brothers, me and Mum a year ago.

“Life ended for her and changed beyond recognition for me in a bad way. None of us know what's around the corner. Live life well.”

Eamonn was soon inundated with support and well wishes from his friends and followers.

“Hope things improve for you Eamonn,” said one person.

Another gushed: “There are miracles around every corner. I hope things look up for you, friend. You are loved!”

“Thinking about you and all the family RIP,” wrote a third follower.

A fourth added: “I lovely photo of you with your mum.”

At the time of Eamonn's mum's passing last November, he took to social media to break the sad news to his followers, with him writing: "My four amazing brothers and I said goodbye for the last time to our beautiful Mum Josie this afternoon.

"She's at last reunited with Daddy now. That is our only consolation."

Eamonn's dad Leonard, died of a heart attack while driving at the age of 64.
