TMZ reported that the 53-year-old had been involved in two hit-and-runs prior to the crash and said that LAPD sources had informed them that the actress was under the influence of cocaine at the time, according to the results of a blood test.
Giving the sad update on her condition in a statement, Heche's agent said: "Unfortunately, due to her accident, Anne Heche suffered a severe anoxic brain injury and remains in a coma, in critical condition. She is not expected to survive."
The statement then continued: "It has long been her choice to donate her organs and she is being kept on life support to determine if any are viable.
"We want to thank everyone for their kind wishes and prayers for Anne's recovery and thank the dedicated staff and wonderful nurses that cared for Anne at the Grossman Burn Center at West Hills hospital.

It finished with: "More than her extraordinary talent, she saw spreading kindness and joy as her life’s work – especially moving the needle for acceptance of who you love. She will be remembered for her courageous honesty and dearly missed for her light."
Anne reportedly crashed her Mini into a garage before smashing it into an apartment building in the Mar Vista area of Los Angeles before it exploded.
A team of 59 firefighters reportedly pulled her out of the wreckage at about 11am local time and it had taken more than an hour to bring the blaze under control.
Images show Anne's blue Mini completely burnt out on the street before it was taken away by a tow truck, leaving onlookers stunned.
Speaking to NBC Los Angeles, an eyewitness said: "The house was tons of smoke. I think they used the crane to move the car to extract the driver. It was crazy."
Anne came to recognition portraying twins Vicky Hudson and Marley Love on the soap opera Another World, which won her a Daytime Emmy Award.
