Not every Elvis Presley fan knows this but, The King’s natural hair colour was dirty blonde. Early on in his career, the rock and roll star would dye his hair jet black “for drama”, as once described by his ex-girlfriend Linda Thompson. If Elvis were alive today he would be 86-years-old and now his cousin Billy Smith has shared if The King would still be dying his hair and performing in jumpsuits in 2021.

Billy appeared with his son Danny on the Memphis Mafia Kid YouTube channel to share his thoughts.

Elvis Presley’s cousin said: “I kind of think he would probably still be dyeing his hair but you know he might have left a little grey in it.

“But as far as the jumpsuits…Elvis liked to stay with the trend going at the time.

“And I don’t think so. I think it would probably wound around to something different as far as costumes.”

Danny said of whatever Elvis would be wearing in 2021: “It would, of course, [have] stood out. It would have been flashy.

“He would have been stylish and standing out. The cool that he always was.”

While both Memphis Mafia members, who lived at Graceland with The King, admitted it was really hard to imagine an old Elvis.

Billy added: “But back then he naturally wanted to keep his hair dyed. He always looked good, which he did.”

Last year, Elvis’ ex-girlfriend Joanie Shoofey recounted The King’s “wild” lifestyle in Las Vegas, which included smearing his black hair dye on the walls.

Speaking with Elvis expert Billy Stallings Spa Guy on his YouTube channel, Joanie said: “He used to mess up his suite so bad.

“We had to redo it every time he was there. They all dyed their hair and [there was] black dye all over the walls.

“And one time he shot the TV with a gun. I mean he was wild, he was not nice in a room.”

Joanie, who had gone on to marry the president of the International Hotel where Elvis had his residencies, added: “But they were having a good time.

“That’s not my kind of good time but we had to redo the whole room every time they would leave.”

She even clarified that this would include repainting the whole hotel suite.

Joanie continued: “But that’s okay, they were wild that bunch that he ran with, y’know. I don’t know what they were smoking or doing but… [laughs].”

While Elvis was at the International Hotel in Las Vegas, Joanie says she was the only one who had access to him and was able to get him to meet fans.

She said: “I kept bringing people to meet him. And I was the only one who could get anybody in there.

“Because he didn’t want to meet that many people. He was tired of [it].”

A Warner Bros movie biopic of Elvis’ life and career is set for release next summer starring Austin Butler as The King.
