Final 'DONDA' Listening Event Will Be in Chicago—Here's the New Release Date

It seems that Kanye West is done making his fans aimlessly wait for his highly expected 10th studio album, ‘DONDA’. The news casually broke last night that he’ll be hosting his third listening event in his hometown Chicago and hope is once again restored. While dramatic releases are nothing new for Kanye West, there appears to be something much more intriguing about this particular album. While the world continues to practice patience for the rapper’s musical masterpiece, the reality that it still hasn’t hit the ears of millions, remains a hard pill to swallow.

Kanye West keeps fans waiting

The moment so many of us have been waiting for could be right around the corner. Kanye West has teased the world once more with not his first or second but his third listening party for ‘DONDA’. This album is a direct dedication to Kanye West’s late mother, Donda West, who unexpectedly died in November of 2007, from multiple post-operative factors as she underwent plastic surgery.

On top of Kanye West’s intentional plan to give tribute to his mother, word on the street is songs like: “No Child Left Behind,” is storming the industry by surprise. This song was creatively featured in a ‘DONDA’ promotional video as an accent to a Beats by Dre ad featuring former Olympian Sha’Carri Richardson, who also shares the burden of losing her biological mom.

Elsewhere on the album he seemingly reintroduces himself through songs reportedly entitled: “Welcome to My Life” as he uncovers a new era he’s stepping into. Going through a divorce and as he put it lyrically “losing his family,” alludes to the strain of his and Kim Kardashian’s separation will include living in different households going forward.

Why is Kanye throwing a third listening party?

While Kanye West is persistent in the teases, he gives us from each official event he throws to showcase the album, fans now restlessly wait for this apparent third event to be held next week on August 26, to bring it all home. According to Billboard, the multi-Grammy award-winning artist has set a record with Apple Music as 5.4 million viewers tuned in to the Livestream for his most recent event.

A tweet teasing Kanye West’s third listening party in Chicago shed some more insight. “There’s no concert listed for the 26th anywhere on Ticketmaster so it’s EXTREMELY likely that it’s gonna be Ye’s listening party,” an account claiming to be of someone working security at soldier field states on Twitter.

Contrary to what reports have been saying regarding a fluctuating pattern in his clothing and shoe line YEEZY, the current numbers reflect a total of $7 million in sales. He has allegedly hibernated in the Atlanta Mercedes-Benz Stadium since the announcement of the new album, through the successful completion of two listening events.

When is the new release date?

In accordance with the announcement of a possible third listening party, Apple Music has also updated the release date to Sunday, August 22.

Fans from various artists featured on the album look forward to the harmonious collaborations, and at the top of that list is Jay-Z. As Kanye West revealed their song together at the end of his second listening party, the eagerness for ‘DONDA’ grew.

Now the question is: Will the release date change given it’s set to drop before the third live listening party?
