Paige Turley, who dated Scottish singer Lewis Capaldi , tried to hit the big time for years before Love Island – by auditioning on Britain's Got Talent .
The 22-year-old went on the ITV programme in 2012 and reached the semi-finals by singing Skinny Love by Birdy.
Prior to show's launch on January 12, the West Lothian native shared a "fun fact" about herself.
She said: "When I was 14 I was on Britain’s Got Talent as a solo singer and I got to the semifinals. I sang Skinny Love by Birdy."

Paige has joined the line-up, which includes Rochelle Humes' younger sister and the heir of Lanhydrock, for the upcoming winter Love Island series, taking place in Cape Town, South Africa.
The blonde bombshell is said to be the inspiration behind Lewis' smash hit single Someone You Loved.
Paige and Lewis reportedly dated for a year after meeting at college in Motherwell, and he was said to be "madly in love" with the stunner.

Discussing her "claim to fame", Paige said: "Lewis Capaldi is my ex-boyfriend. We went out when we were younger, I was about 17 or 18.
"We were together for about a year. It ended really amicably and we're still pals."
Lewis penned his number one album Divinely Uninspired To A Hellish Extent about his former flame, and admitted he still thinks about their relationship "every day".
Speaking to The Sun, he said: "I met a lady.
"She was very nice. I loved her. I loved the look of her and I loved how she spoke.
"We dated for a year-and-a-half, then she left me. Then I wrote an album about it and I still think about it every day."

Paige is hoping the popular dating show will help her find a man.
Wishing to couple up with a "tall, dark and handsome" hunk, the Scottish beauty admitted she's turned off by people who have "cheesy chat lines and arrogance".
Winter Love Island airs on ITV at 9pm on Sunday January 12.
