Love Island Jack Fowler says he ‘almost died’ at date which left girl ‘shaken’

Love Island Jack Fowler rose to fame after he appeared in the villa in 2018 and was instantly adored by the nation for his charming approach to drama on the show.

Since leaving the ITV2 show, the 24-year-old has gone on to become an influencer with 1.4million Instagram followers, a model and now he has began a career in acting after he partnered with dating app Badoo to recreate some real life dating horror stories for its YouTube channel series called True Stories.

Sitting down to chat with Daily Star Online about his new project, Jack spoke candidly about his worst date ever after the character he plays also experiences an awful date, but sadly Jack's was a lot more serious.

Asked what his worst ever date was, Jack recalled the time he went to a fancy restaurant/bar with a girl he had been seeing when he was 21 years old.

Jack explained how he had been seeing the girl for a while but she hadn't yet met his parents and they left the bar at around 3am, but before he left he took and ate a Turkish delight from by the till.

The heartthrob, who is dangerously allergic to nuts, confessed he didn't realise at the time that Turkish delights can contain nuts.

He said: "Literally 10 seconds after I ate one my throat closed up and I didn’t have my epipen on me.

"We were just about to get into the Uber to go back to hers but I said I need to go back to mine because I’m having an allergic reaction."

The pair arrived at Jack's parents house at around 3am, with Jack recalling how his panicked mum sprinted down the stairs in her nightie.

He continued: "I'm practically dying and having to stab myself with an epipen and this girl is meeting my mum for the first time."

Jack described how the girl sat there "freaking out" while they waited for the ambulance as he turned "as red as a tomato".

Speaking of how he felt in the moment, he said: "I couldn’t breathe or speak and was pretty much dying.

"The ambulance turned up and stabbed another epipen into me and then put me on gas and air to make sure I could breathe.

"The girl has come into the ambulance with me, my mum is driving behind. Long story short, I went into shock in the ambulance, she’s sitting there crying and freaking out."

Things quickly got even worse as Jack says he had to be resuscitated in the back of the ambulance.

Jack continued: "It was absolute madness. My mum’s trying to help her and she don’t even know the girl.

"The girl came and tried to give me a cuddle while I was having a fit and my mum’s told her to get off me.

"I was bright as a f*****g tomato and I couldn’t breathe."

Luckily Jack made a full recovery and continued to see the girl for a while but it fizzled out before he entered the villa and he now occassionally bumps into her in the gym where they "laugh about it".

In Badoo's True Stories, episode one, 'Angry Couple' sees Jack play the part of a dating app user keen to impress a girl he’s been chatting to but is struggling to afford to wine and dine her.

Unbeknownst to his date, he decides to take her to the bougie restaurant he works for, thanks to his staff discount.

He rushes through his shift with the help of his colleague, played by fellow Islander, Wes Nelson. To Jack’s dismay, a middle-aged couple make his life extremely difficult by complaining about absolutely everything.

Fed up, he decides to give them a real-telling off and adds a little something extra to their dessert! When he finally finishes his shift, he spruces up before meeting his date outside.

As they are shown to their seats, it appears the rude couple have not left yet. His date, looking surprised, instantly recognises them and introduces Jack… to her parents!
