Michael Jackson has three children, one of whom, Blanket, is a teenager who has only just finished school. The eldest Prince has made clear his passion is behind the cameras and the music, making music videos and doing business deals. But what about Paris Jackson – has she followed in her father’s footsteps into the music world?

Michael Jackson’s daughter Paris has made moves to walk closer in her father’s footsteps.

She performed as a duo with her then-boyfriend and musical partner Gabriel Glenn, however, reports have now suggested they are no longer together.

According to TMZ, sources close to Paris said she “decided it was time for her to go solo”.

The report said the break-up was “amicable” but the relationship “ran its course and it was something that just needed to happen”.

The Sound Flowers recently released their first EP, which received mixed reviews, however, she teamed up with her brother Prince to make the music video.

Prince told This Morning’s Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford: “We just produced her first music video and her entrance into the entertainment industry.

“I’m very proud of her. It was such an experience to work with my sister and for a gruelling four days.

“Most music videos are not filmed in the way we did but we were inspired by my father’s long-form music videos or short film music videos.

“It was such a learning experience and I was so proud to see my sister’s art come to life and I was so proud to be a partner of that.”

According to an interview with AP Entertainment, her new album Wilted is all about heartbreak.

She said: “I have found so much healing through creating this.

“There are moments when I will listen back to certain songs and think, ‘Wow I was so naive.’

“But for the most part it’s so much joy and gratitude I get from listening to these songs and seeing the development, the evolution of what they became.

“Starting out from just bare bones with just a guitar and my voice and what they’ve turned into.”

Her brother, Prince described his sister in 2017, when she gave some of her early interviews as an 18-year-old.

Prince said: “Basically, as a person, she is who my dad is.

“The only thing that’s different would be her age and her gender.”

He added how they were similar “in all of her strengths, and almost all of her weaknesses as well”.

He continued: “She’s very passionate. She is very emotional to the point where she can let emotion cloud her judgment.”

From Prince’s comments about her, this move into solo music seems to have been something brewing since she was young.

However, Paris’ music is very different from her father’s focusing more on folk and acoustic genres than the Prince of Pop’s iconic tunes.
