Michael Jackson son: What are his children like now? ‘PROUD to be his namesake’

Michael Jackson had three children – two with his wife Debbie Rowe and the other through an anonymous surrogate. His eldest, Prince Jackson, is trying to “maintain” his father’s legacy through philanthropic work. In a conversation This Morning’s Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford, he spoke out about what his siblings are like now and why he is “proud” to have the same name of his father.

Prince Jackson was born Michael Joseph Jackson Jr, and he is incredibly proud to bear the same name as his father.

He told Eamonn Holmes: “I appreciate you say being a Michael Jackson – a lot of people don’t know that’s my name.

“I’m very proud to share the same name as my father. Sharing that powerful name there is… I don’t want to say a pressure or weight as that’s a negative connotation, but there is this legacy that my father worked very hard to build and maintain.

“I feel it’s my position and my life and with everything I’ve been given I want to continue to expand that legacy and improve it and bring it and keep it.”

He is clearly proud of that name – so much so, he has started a charity called Heal Los Angeles, which takes its inspiration from Michael’s Heal the World Foundation.

However, while speaking he was also asked about his two siblings – Paris and Blanket, now Bigi – and how they are coping in the big bad world now their father has been gone for 11 years.

In his answer, Prince gave a huge insight into what his siblings are really like, and how they are also planning to make their mark on the world.

He said: “We’re very close – that unconventional upbringing you mentioned only tightened our bond as siblings.

“Siblings are tight no matter what, but the way we grew up and interact with each other, there’s an unspoken bond. We can almost read each other’s body language and minds…

“My sister is really focused on her career and her music I’m so proud of her and all the strides she’s making and my brother, every time I talk to him I’m impressed with how intelligent he is the way, the words his sentences…

“It’s always about working together and how can we collaborate and push each other up and make each other better.”

For Prince, working with her sister Paris was really important to him, and he even made her music video speak of their relationship and their father’s work.

He added: “We just produced her first music video and her entrance into the entertainment industry.

“I’m very proud of her it was such an experience to work with my sister and a gruelling four days.

“Most music videos are not filmed in the way we did but we were inspired by my father’s long form music videos or short film music videos.

“It was such a learning experience and I was so proud to see my sister’s art come to life and I was so proud to be a partner of that.”

The Jackson siblings have remained close since their father’s death, which thrust them into the limelight after they spent years being covered up when they went out.

Now, Paris has worked in film, modelling and music, while Bigi has just finished high school and recently bought himself a new home in Los Angeles.

Most recently Paris hit headlines for her upcoming movie, Habit, where she portrays what has been branded a “lesbian Jesus.”

For Prince, his work is based in philanthropic endeavours, which he hopes will “maintain” his father’s legacy and places him as the “protector” of his siblings from the business side of their work.
