My Morning Jacket’s New Year’s Eve, DaBaby’s cancellation, and more Denver concert news

Comic and “Daily Show” correspondent Ronny Chieng is swinging through Colorado on his way to becoming a household name. In addition to a role in Marvel’s Sept. 3 movie, “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings,” Chieng’s recent Netflix special proved him a comedic gift to U.S. audiences (“Asian Comedian Destroys America!”). Chieng plays the Boulder Theater Sept. 24 and Denver’s Newman Center for the Performing Arts on Sept. 25 as part of his “Hope You Get Rich” tour. Tickets are on sale. ($29.50-$39.50, bouldertheater.com and newmantix.com)

Also in comedy — and, incidentally, on one of the same dates — is a second show from groundbreaking sitcom veteran and Denver favorite George Lopez, whose 7 p.m. show is close to selling out. Refunds are available at the point of purchase, likely axs.com.
