Leigh-Anne Pinnock came under fire from US rapper Nicki Minaj during an Instagram Livestream on Monday evening as Nicki joined forces with Jesy Nelson.
The rapper spoke about the alleged leaked direct messages from Leigh-Anne to a social media influencer, in which she appeared to urge them to upload a video about Jesy Nelson's "blackfishing".
Nicki, who teamed up with Jesy for her debut solo single, Boyz, slammed Leigh-Anne in a scathing rant that has since been widely slammed on social media.
Seemingly taking the alleged DMs as fact, the Superbass musician said: "Immediately that person has to wear a big red clown nose and big clown boots because you're a big f**ing clown.
"There are lots of women out here in the United States that tan, get bigger lips, get all types of s**t done to themselves."
Nicki continued: "I wear blonde hair, straight blonde hair down to my feet if I want to when I want to, contacts, whatever, I do whatever the f**k I want.
"As long as you're not hurting anybody or speaking negative about anybody's race or culture, you should be able to enjoy your makeup, your body however you want to."
During Nicki's explosive outburst, Jesy remained silent before erupting into laughter as Nicki encouraged Leigh-Anne to focus her energy on something else before saying she should "suck ya mother [sic]".
The mum-of-one later claimed Leigh-Anne had made the decision to send messages about her former bandmate of 10 years due to Boyz charting at number one on iTunes ahead of the ultimate chart position being revealed on Friday.
"Sweetheart take them text messages and shove it up ur f**king a**, because when you do clown s**t I gotta treat you and talk to you like you're a clown," she exclaimed.
She added: "It screams insecurity, it screams that you're jealous, only jealous people do things like this and now you just look like a big jealous bozo."
Jesy later added that it "really means a lot" that Nicki would choose to defend her.
Addressing claims that Jesy is "blackfishing", the term used when a white person appears to take on black cultural references which may be done through hairstyles, makeup or even surgery, Nicki said: "I know singers who tan a lot, it's their f*****g business, it's their f*****g right, it's different when someone comes out and pretends to be black.
"Unless someone is pretending to be a race that they're not and lying – and I could tell you a couple a people – sweetheart, take them text messages and shove them up your a*s because when you do clown s**t I've got to treat you, let her enjoy her time."
Jesy claimed that she "never intended to offend people of colour" with her music video and that the accusations "hurt her".
