AceShowbiz –Nicki Minaj continues to prove that she is a true rap queen. The Trinidadian hip-hop star has set yet another Spotify record with the success of her latest single “Super Freaky Girl”, a little over a month since its release.
On Saturday, September 17, multiple reports confirmed the “Super Bass” rapper’s “Super Freaky Girl” has officially broken a major Spotify record by becoming the fastest solo female rap song to accumulate 100 million streams on the platform.
The new streaming milestone underscores the immense success Nicki has experienced since it was debuted atop the Billboard Hot 100. The explosive new single also gave the 39-year-old Grammy-winning artist her very first No. 1 hit as a solo artist and the first chart-topping debut for any solo female rap artist since Lauryn Hill‘s 1998 single “Doo Wop (That Thing)”.
Turning to her Twitter account, Nicki also acknowledged the traction “Super Freaky Girl” has sustained since it was released on August 12, remarking on how the additional remixes to the hit seemingly boosted the already surging streaming margins to over 20 million streams per week. “5 weeks in?!?!!! Whoa!!!!! This is amazing you guys! Thank you!!!! The #QueenMix rlly BODIED!!!! GO STREAM!!!!!!,” so tweeted the “Anaconda” femcee.
“Super Freaky Girl” prominently samples Rick James‘ 1981 single “Super Freak”. The track is included on Nicki’s first greatest hits album “Queen Radio: Volume 1”. In the chorus, Nicki spits about her sexual encounter, “I can lick it, I can ride it while you slippin’ and slidin’/ I can do all them little tricks and keep the d**k up inside it.” She continues, “You can smack it, you can grip it, you can go down and kiss it.”
Nicki released “Super Freaky Girl” nearly a week after she treated fans to its cover art. In the snap, the female emcee could be seen flashing her legs in a pink bodysuit and matching high heels. She also sported a pink wig in the image.
In addition to the Roman remix, Nicki also released a massive posse-cut Queen Mix of “Super Freaky Girl” featuring City Girls rapper JT, BIA, Maliibu Miitch, Katie Got Bandz and Akbar V.
