Piers Morgan says he wouldn’t ‘ignore calls to be PM’ if his time came

Outspoken Piers Morgan is never one to hold back while grilling those in power and it appears that he may soon be the one facing a grilling from the public and media.

The former newspaper editor has recently been at the centre of a frenzy, with millions of people hoping he runs for office and eventually sit in Downing Street as the Prime Minister.

It comes after the Good Morning Britain co-anchor has continued to slam the government for their handling of the coronavirus pandemic, as well as stopping free school meals over the festive period with thousands of children going hungry.

Throughout the pandemic, Piers, 55, updated the public on a daily basis that those elected to hold power in Britain had refused to appear on Good Morning Britain and instead opted to appear on rival broadcasters, famously clashing with Matt Hancock.

Now, Piers has now dropped an almighty bombshell implying that he would run for office should the time come.

Speaking to The Sun, he said: "As for politics, listen, if it's my turn to serve, and the people want me, who am I to ignore the will of the people?"

The broadcaster has also shared his manifesto in which he states he would plead with Her Majesty The Queen to strip Prince Harry and wife Meghan, Duchess of Sussex of their royal titles.

This comes after former Suits actress Meghan and military serviceman Harry made the choice early last year to step down as senior members of The Royal Family.

Writing for an opinion piece in The Daily Mail, he goes on to state that he would order two hours of compulsory sport in schools every day in a bid to tackle the nations obesity pandemic.

Following Liz Hurley's decision to strip and pose topless, Piers goes on to add that he would place her under a curfew and require her to wear clothes in order to protect "what's left of her dignity".

Currently, odds have been slashed from 5001-1 down to 20-1 following an almighty Daily Star frontpage which was covered with the phrase: "PM for PM."

While Piers may not have a background in politics, his former pal and star of The Apprentice USA, Donald Trump, also had no background in politics yet managed a successful campaign during the 2017 US Election, and eventually becoming the 45th President of the United States.
