Rylan Clark thanks fans for support after video emerges of him demanding gear

Rylan has taken to Twitter to thank his followers for their support after a video recently surfaced online.

The footage showed the 33-year-old presenter saying "give me the gear" before telling the person behind the camera to delete the footage.

The person filming the video was shown but blurred out.

It is not clear what he meant in the video and there is no suggestion that he was asking for, or took, 'gear' which is slang for drugs.

After the clip of the star enjoying a night out was shared online, he tweeted: “Morning. Slow news day. Have a good Sunday,” with a thumbs up emoji.

Many fans have now come to Rylan’s defence following his spell of heartache which saw him hospitalised after splitting from his husband of five years, Dan Neal.

The break up left Rylan heartbroken and he told The Observer that he ‘didn’t think he could continue’, with both his work and personal life.

He thanked his followers online and the star wrote: “Cheers for your messages. Proper decent. Not usually expected on here. Thank you,” and signed off with a kiss.

He attached a meme to the tweet, a picture of a young Natalie Cassidy dressed in a school uniform as Sonia from Eastenders. The funny snap was captioned “What doesn’t kill you makes you Sonia.”

Natalie herself tweeted out to Rylan and wrote: “Love you angel,” with a red heart emoji.

One adoring fan wrote: “I don't know the whole story but you do and I hope that you continue to make people smile and laugh with your energy.”

“F***ing love you Rylan. National f***ing treasure,” left another Twitter user.

The Chase’s Jenny Ryan has openly spoken out and said that she supports the presenter through the current controversy.

She applauded the public for ‘forming a protective ring’ around Rylan and called him ‘an actual treasure’.

Rylan rose to fame on The X-Factor back in 2012 and has gone on to present various shows such as This Morning and Ready Steady Cook.

The TV personality met Dan in 2013, the year that Neal was on Big Brother. Rylan hosted its spin-off, Big Brother’s bit on the side, and the pair hit it off.

They were engaged in 2014 and married in 2015, but their marriage broke down over ‘children and TV career differences’.
