Sharon Osbourne slapped Piers Morgan round face – but Ozzy made her apologise

Sharon Osbourne has admitted she slapped close pal Piers Morgan around the face on a lunch date, but husband Ozzy Osbourne forced her to apologise.

The former X Factor judge, who came under fire recently for defending outspoken Piers, has said that despite their friendship, they still "argue like hell".

And one particular disagreement led to a "punch-up" at a fancy Chinese restaurant in the affluent area of Knightsbridge in London.

She explained: "I slapped him in Mr Chow's.

"Then I go home and Ozzy goes, 'Call him and apologise. Do it right now.'"

The 68-year-old added to the Mail's You magazine: "That was years ago. He'll be huffy with me for a day and then he talks to me. We don't agree about lots of things."

Sharon and Piers' 20-year friendship has made headlines in recent months as she defended him following his exit from Good Morning Britain.

His comments about Meghan Markle caused outrage among viewers, and led to his eventual decision to quit the morning show.

But Sharon spoke out in his defence, before then having to stick up for herself on her own show in the US.

The mum-of-three then decided to quit the show, The Talk, after an on-air argument with co-host Sheryl Underwood.

Sharon's words were criticised as they were perceived to have racist undertones, but she fiercely refused to accept the accusations of racism.

She said: "Why is it that because I supported a longtime friend and work colleague for years, people go, 'Well you must be racist because he's racist.'

"No. I support his freedom of speech. I'm not racist and neither is Piers racist.

"What have I ever said about anybody that's racist? It's not within me. It's not in my soul."

Behind the scenes, Sharon – and Ozzy – have been very generous supporters of the Black Lives Matter movement.

The duo had special Black Sabbath t-shirts printed in the band's font which read "Black Lives Matter", and they're still popular items now.

She revealed that, from the sales, they had donated $720,000 to the organisation, and had another $200,000 to donate to another group.

The charitable sales happened before Sharon herself was accused of racism, however she said she didn't make a big deal over her own actions as "people don't want to hear it".

She added: "It's like saying, "Some of my best friends are black.'"
