Sinitta has been left horrified by a "terrible prank" that claimed her best pal Simon Cowell had died – insisting he was very much "alive and well".
The 80s singer, 59, who used to date the music mogul, 63, was given the fright of her life when she received messages saying he had passed away.
Simon and Sinitta were linked from 1983 onwards and spent 30 years in an on-again off-again romance, but she was left shaken after first hearing the speculation that he had died.

Celebs Go Dating's Sinitta insisted her friend was very much "alive and well", writing: "There is a terrible prank that Simon Cowell has died.
"It freaked me out last night when people started messaging me! Simon is NOT dead People. Very much Alive and Well… thank God I have a great sense of humour but you really scared me."
One of her followers told her: "Sadly people start these rumours to cause anguish and upset, and it spirals. Last week it was Davina McCall. Just horrible."
Last year, So Macho singer Sinitta confessed that she had hoped for a future with the X Factor and Britain's Got Talent legend, despite his blossoming romance with wife-to-be Lauren Silverman.
She said she thought the pair had an understanding and envisioned a future with Simon 10 years ago – just before he started dating Lauren in 2013.
Sinitta revealed: "It was about 10 years ago and yeah, I was still wanting to be with him then, yes," before adding that she felt the romance was "on and off".
Sinitta added that she thought there was an unspoken understanding, which she has now called a "misunderstanding on my part".

The pair first met in 1983 when Sinitta, then thought to have been 20 at the time, became his first signing as a record boss.
But in 2017 she admitted she still harboured a physical attraction towards Simon, explaining it was like being "brainwashed".
She told Daily Mirror at the time: "There’s still sexual chemistry between Simon and I, I still fancy him – there are lots of things I find very attractive about him, but I’ve been programmed to like Simon."
