She said they dealt with it by "sticking together" and only told immediately friends and family. Despite being given a devastating prognosis, Suzan said Noddy remained positive.
The 77-year-old had received treatment at The Christie Hospital in Manchester and had a new form of chemotherapy helped him. Suzan said there were "no guarantees" doing the chemo, but he responded well.
She added: "As anyone who has received a cancer diagnosis will know, the experts never like to use the world 'cure'. Here we are five years later and he's feeling good and looking great.
"The only advice I can offer to anyone facing a similar battle right now is to listen to your specialists and try to stay as positive as you can." Noddy never "worried" about his future, she said, adding that the attitude "served him well".
Suzan praised her husband for his mental strength and positive attitude throughout the five years. "I've always been impressed by my husband's focus and determination but now I am completely in awe," she added.
Support has flooded in online as one user wrote: "The guy is a legend he has a voice that was so unique it was infectious." While another added: "I'm so glad he's come out the other side."
Noddy rose to fame with Slade as the band landed six Number 1 UK hits during their career. Their best-known song, Merry Xmas Everyone, is said to bring in £500,000 in royalties each year.
The group was famously one of the biggest British rock bands of the Seventies. Despite breaking up in 1992, the group reformed and continued to tour, with Suzan teasing there could be more shows on the cards.
