Amy Dowden has penned a sweet message to her Strictly co-stars amid her cancer battle, saying she hopes to "be there in a few weeks".
The 33-year-old is usually busy with the rest of the pros at this point in the BBC ballroom contest, but is having to miss it after being diagnosed with the illness this year. Amy told fans in May that she had breast cancer, and just a few weeks later she shared that she been given a second cancer diagnosis.
The competition is now under way, with the likes of Les Dennis, Bobby Brazier and Nikita Kanda among those taking part, and Amy told her colleagues she was with them all the way. Sharing a picture of herself looking "Strictlyfied" in sequins and sparkles for her official show picture, the star wrote on Instagram: "Happy live show day @bbcstrictly."

She went on: "Wishing the entire team a fabulous show and I know it’s going to be amazing! I’ve been kept up to date with the pros and a few sneaky FaceTimes!"
Amy told her fellow dancers and the celebs: "Literally can’t wait to watch and support you all. Hopefully I’ll be there in a few weeks." She added hashtags including "#strictlyfamily" and "#keepdancing" to her post.
The TV beauty was inundated with messages from fans, friends and her Strictly co-stars after she penned the note, with show judge Motsi Mabuse saying: "We love you." Fellow dancer Katya Jones added: "We gonna miss you sooo much tonight! Will do everything to make you proud."
Dancer Dianne Buswell chimed in: "Thinking of you, we all miss you. But I already have a smile on my face thinking of this time next year when you're gonna be back dancing with us again xxxx."
Amy has been updating her fans on her cancer fight, and earlier this month revealed she had decided to shave her hair. She shared a video on Instagram showing loved ones helping her as she took what she said was "the hardest step so far".
"I tried my best to save it," the TV star told fans. "I know it’s only hair but these past few months I’ve had what feels like so much taken away from me that has made me not feel like Amy. I’m missing every possible aspect of dancing. I just wanted to keep my identity with my hair and I tried telling myself it wouldn’t go."
Amy said she used to dread waking up to hair shedding so shaving her long locks was about taking some control. "Since taking control, I feel I can now see the finish line," she said.
