Josie Gibson has slammed a ban on wolf-whistling.

The star of TV’s This Morning is annoyed it is no longer socially acceptable because she used to love getting attention from randy blokes.

She said: “Do you know what I hate? I hated it when they started banning wolf-whistling. I used to love getting wolf-whistled at.”

Josie, 38, is one of TV’s best-loved stars since she became a regular host on This Morning, but she still doesn’t get anyone flirting with her when she’s out and about.

In an interview on ITV series Shopping With Keith Lemon (subs please keep), she said: “I never get chatted up.

"I never, ever get chatted up.”In March it emerged wolf-whistling is set to become illegal as part of a Government crackdown.

Street harassment laws, titled The Protection from Sex-based Harassment in Public Bill, will mean anyone caught doing it will face up to two years in prison.

Catcalling and sexual comments that amount to harassment would also be banned.

The new law has already been cleared in the House of Commons.

Former Cabinet minister Greg Clark, who introduced it, said: “For the first time in our history, deliberately harassing, following, shouting degrading words at, making obscene gestures at women and girls in public places, and yes, on occasion men and boys in public places, because of their sex, with the deliberate intention to cause them alarm or distress, will be a specific offence, and a serious one at that.”

Labour MP Stella Creasy said: “By passing this legislation we are sending a powerful message to our young men that they do deserve better than that caricature of boys will be boys.”
