X Factor’s Honey G unveils weight loss transformation as she hunts for Mrs Right

X Factor icon Honey G has unveiled her dramatic new look after losing almost two stone in lockdown.

The 39-year-old rap artist, real name Anna Gilford, has swapped her signature sunglasses for swimming goggles to enter the world of triathlon.

She recently completed a 33km run in a week to help raise money for NHS Charities Together and will take part in her first triathlon next weekend, which consists of a 750m swim, 20km cycle and a 5km run.

Intense training sessions, which have included virtual spinning classes, running and open-water swimming sessions, have helped the TV star shed the pounds, as well as Hatha Yoga classes, which have helped to improve core strength and good mental well being.

Speaking to Daily Star Online, the music producer explained: "Lockdown has proved to me that doing lots of exercise can make you lose weight.

"I went to see a top obesity specialist and a dietician in the past and I was trying to lose weight by changing my diet but during lockdown I combined changing my diet and doing a large amount of exercise.

"I've been probably doing more exercise in lockdown than I have in my whole life."

As well as running between 18km to 20km every week and treating herself to a spinning bike, the musician has taken part in two aquathons.

Despite looking noticeably slimmer, Honey G admitted that she didn't notice her shrinking waistline until recently.

She said: "I didn't realise until I got into the triathlon tri-suit that I had lost weight on my stomach.

"Since the end of X Factor I have been trying to lose weight and now I know the weight loss is from doing loads of sports.

"Now I have noticed that by doing these events has helped me lose weight, I want to carry on.

"I want to keep on going, tone up and continue to bring in my weight some more and hopefully I will be able to find Mrs Right."

As well as keeping fit, Honey G has also been busy writing her memoir during lockdown.

Discussing her upcoming tell-all book, Honey G teased: "It details my fondest memories as well as some of the dark times.

"There are some parts of my life that are both shocking and gripping. My life before X Factor was not an easy road and I have suffered quite a lot."

Honey G took part in the ITV singing competition doing the show's thirteenth series back in 2016.

She performed her way through to the live shows and came fifth place in the talent show
