Jean Johansson has revealed that her dream is to present ITV’s This Morning, as she admitted: “I’ve been really honest about my ambitions to get on the sofa one day.”
Earlier this year, Jean, 41, landed a slot on This Morning presenting the competition segment – a position, she reveals, was secured by banging on the doors of ITV’s bosses.
Now, following Holly Willoughby’s sensational exit from the ITV programme last week, the A Place in the Sun star has set her sights on the vacant presenting role.
“I’m now the proud competition host. I just knew it was meant to be. My first competition was in my home area of Inverclyde. It was a really special moment,” she told OK! magazine.
“I’ve been really honest about my ambitions to get on the sofa one day and I’m one step closer. Everyone has been supportive and that’s not always the case in TV.

“It’s been great to work closely with Josie Gibson. We’ve been friends for years and she’s got so much warmth.”
On Tuesday, Holly announced her exit from This Morning with a statement that read: “I have let ITV know today that after 14 years, I will not be returning to This Morning. To everyone who has ever worked on the show over the years, thank you so so much.
“This is such a difficult goodbye, you are incredible and I forever will be proud of what we’ve done together.
“Thank you to everyone at ITV for being supportive. To every guest who has sat on our sofa, thank you.

“Most of all, thank you to the wonderful viewers. You’ve been so loyal, so supportive and the very best company every day.
“Richard and Judy said, ‘We only look after this show, it will always belong to the viewers.’ It’s been an honour to just be part of its story and I know this story has many chapters left to go.
“Sadly, however, I now feel I have to make this decision for me and my family. I will miss you all so much. Holly.”

Holly’s exit from This Morning, a show she has presented since 2009, comes after a tough year for the presenter.
In September last year, she and her former co-host Philip Schofield, 61, were slammed over jumping the queue to see Her Majesty lying-in-state at Westminster Hall.
Then, earlier this year, it was revealed that Phillip had had an affair with a young employee, which later saw him resign from ITV with immediate effect.
This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV.
