Alan Titchmarsh is “not the type” to do reality TV.
The 74-year-old presenter is best known for fronting shows like Love Your Garden.
But he admitted he has turned down I’m A Celebrity and Strictly a number of times.

He said: “Strictly asked me again this year for the sixth time. My wife [Alison] taught dance and she said my knees won’t take the lifts and I think she’s quite right. So I stay clear of that one.
“I was asked to do I’m A Celebrity last year and I turned that one down for about the third time, too.
“That’s not my bag, I’m not a reality TV type. I like to be doing something, like presenting, rather than people assassinating me for the fluff in my navel.
“I worry about the damage to the wildlife on that show!”
The former chat show host went on to add that he finds fronting Love Your Garden – which sees him and David Domoney, Katie Rushworth and Frances Tophill help people transform their outdoor spaces – “difficult”.
He said: “We always think about what would make the person who owns the garden happiest? What would suit them best so we can give them a piece of heaven?”
Luckily, this year's Strictly line-up is full of big names – even without Alan.
They include soap stars Adam Thomas, Bobby Brazier, Ellie Leach, Les Dennis and Nigel Harman, actors Amanda Abbington and Layton Williams, presenters Angela Rippon, Angela Scanlon and Krishnan Guru-Murthy, sports stars Annabel Croft and Jody Cundy, radio hosts Eddie Kadi and Nikita Kanda, and Love Island star Zara McDermott.
