Alex Reid reveals heartbreaking news fiancee Nikki has miscarried one of their twins after IVF battle

ALEX Reid has revealed his heartache after his fiancée Nicola Manashe miscarried one of their twins.

The fighter-turned-actor, 45, posted a scan picture on Instagram and detailed the couple's difficult day.

He wrote: "We lost one of the twins. I am ?.

"Today was a scary day for Nicola. Emergency call out and bleeding but thank god for the kindness of @hsfc_uk Dr Venkat who calmed a self isolating worried pregnant lady down at 5 am followed by the kind act of pure love from @ultrasound_diagnostic_centre who helped us and saw us straight away, checked the healthy little fighting baby over, made sure the bleeding wasn’t anything sinister and confirmed the baby was well with a due date I can happily say mum and baby are home resting and shielding.

"Baby Reid due July 16th. We will never forget the other baby. Who will now be a guardian angel for his/her twin #ivfjourney#ivfwarrior."

While Nikki also shared a scan of her baby and wrote: "My little warrior has arms and legs".

Last month the couple confirmed that Nikki was four weeks pregnant after a seven-year IVF battle.

She wrote at the time: "Even miracles take time."

Sharing a photo of her positive pregnancy test to her popular Instagram page, which has documented her IVF battle, 35-year-old Nikki wrote: "Even Miracles Take A Little Time. We Still Hope and sometimes against all odds, against all logic, we still hope.

"It’s official!! I can finally say it!!! My HCG levels today are 366!!! I was told that a healthy pregnancy should be around 100 and for twins 250 plus!!!

"I know it’s so early on but how can I not share this when I’ve been blogging my journey with you and who makes up these rules that we can’t embrace pregnancy at 4 weeks and 1 day?

"So on that note I can’t believe I am writing this, I’m one step closer! The Reid babies will be here by June/July!

"I hope my Instagram account shows you to never give up on your dreams, to keep fighting for what you want, to believe and trust."

Alex and Nikki have suffered five miscarriages after trying for a baby for two years.

Sharing the same photo to his own Instagram page, Katie Price's ex wrote: "Never give up on a dream just because of the time it will take to accomplish it.

"It’s official and I’m proud to say that @ivf_chasing_dreams is pregnant with my babies!!!! Her HCG pregnancy levels today are 366 which is high for one baby so it’s quite possible we are having twins!

"As she is a IVF blogger every moment has been shared to raise awareness and to give others hope and it has been her wish to announce today after getting off the phone to @hsfc_uk that she is officially 4 weeks and 1 day pregnant!!!!

"We have many many more hurdles to pass, one hospital visit at a time but today is a good day!

"She is a high risk pregnancy and extremely vulnerable isolating alone but she is as strong as a lion and we got this! My only prayers is to keep all 3 of you safe."

With his mum suffering from dementia and moving into a care home earlier this year, the star poignantly added: "I pray to god that my mum can last and stay alive to hold my new babies."

Alex hasn't been able to see his fiancée because she is on immunosuppressant drugs.

He previously shared: "I'm also not happy because I don't get to see Nicola. Because she's on such powerful IVF drugs and immune-suppressant drugs to kill the immune system.

"Because we've lost five miscarriages due to her immune system killing the babies."

The couple had started their fourth round of IVF in February of this year, but it was put on hold due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The former cruise ship performer met cage fighter Alex in a gym in 2013.

Nikki has previously opened up about the trolling she's faced after suffering miscarriages – with people cruelly telling her it's "karma".

Speaking exclusively to Fabulous Digital, Nikki said: "Every time I would go through IVF I would see nasty comments online from trolls.

"Having to read all that when I'm at my lowest was really tough.

"I was told 'it's karma for being with Alex', 'look she's a fat mess he's downgraded' and 'thank God their baby died, who would want another one of them in the world?'

"There will also be women private messaging Alex on Instagram saying 'she might not be able to carry your baby, but I can'. That happened literally the day after I miscarried.

"People will message me telling me to give up and give my body a rest.

"Then they'll be others who will create fake accounts to leave nasty comments.

"We just want to start a family and be happy. But that's a struggle when we live in a world where everyone wants to air their opinion."

The couple had a "whirlwind" relationship at first, falling pregnant and moving in together within just months of meeting.

But Nikki suffered an ectopic pregnancy – which almost burst one of her Fallopian tubes.
