ALYSSA Milano was involved in a car crash on Tuesday morning after her uncle Mitch Carp had a suspected heart attack at the wheel.
The Charmed actress was forced to use her hand to slam the brakes after Mitch, 63, became unconscious while driving on a West Los Angeles highway.
Alyssa, 48, was in the passenger seat of a Ford Edge when Mitch “started to have an unknown medical issue (possible heart attack),” TMZ reported.
The SUV he was driving reportedly drifted out of its lane and struck a black SUV, which fled the scene of the incident.
Alyssa discovered that her uncle was unconscious when she "felt an impact to the right side" of the car, according to a California Highway Patrol report.
She was able to control the car by reaching over to the driver's side and using her hand to slam the brakes.
NIGHTMARE CRASH
The activist was then able to "bring the Ford to a stop" in between two lanes "with the assistance of a good Samaritan",
Alyssa gave Mitch CPR until LAPD units arrived and continued to perform CPR.
Her uncle was taken to hospital and is still being treated, according to TMZ.
She was uninjured in the collision and was picked up by her husband David Bugliari, the report noted.
The actress did not address the terrifying crash directly, although she did stress the importance of "protecting people we love" and learning CPR.
PROTECT LOVED ONES
She tweeted later that day: "We should all take every opportunity we have to protect the people we love. Get vaccinated. Wear masks.
"Lock up your guns. Learn CPR. Small, common-sense actions. It’s not hard to take care of each other, but it is important."
Alyssa, who has appeared on shows like Insatiable and Grey's Anatomy in recent years, married David in 2009.
They have two children together – daughter Elizabella, 6, and son Milo, 9.
