BBC Breakfast has been hit with a slew of exits in recent months – including long-term hosts Louise Minchin and Dan Walker.
This week, it emerged that political correspondent Adam Fleming is also taking an extended break from the show in order to focus on different projects, including presenting BBC Newscast.
And on Friday (May 27), hosts Naga Munchetty and Charlie Stayt turned their attention to various job advertisements they found in the newspapers.
During a discussion about the headlines of the day, Charlie impressed Naga by reading aloud an article about a school on a Scottish island searching for a new teacher for its four pupils.
Charlie told Naga: "Job advert there for you in the paper. A job advertised which is a for a new headteacher on a remote Scottish island.
"How many pupils will you be teaching on the remote Scottish island? I'll tell you. It's four! Four pupils. So they're calling it a once in a lifetime opportunity."
He added: "Primary school on Foula. So I've not heard of it, actually! 16 miles to the west of Shetland, salary is £61,000. The advert promotes the island's slower pace of life. Four students… yeah, what a life!"
Which is when Naga chimed in: "Quickly, just to pick up from your job advertisement, this application – 49-year-old Antony Lee put an application in for his grandfather, who's 92, for a football manager's job.
"It was for Witton Albion, the club, and in his CV he dubbed him 'The Vintage One' and said his key skills include managing difficult stakeholders (mostly family) and loyalty."
Naga went on to explain: "Because he'd gone to his first game at the age of one. The Vintage One, playing on of course The Special One!"
Charlie echoed: "The Vintage One – I like that!"
It comes after Adam Fleming's emotional announcement that he won't be standing in front of Downing Street much longer, telling fans on Twitter: "This is my last week at Westminster for a while because I’m going to do other stuff for a few months including #BBCNewscast. Thanks for all the constructive feedback of my political coverage on this platform."
He accompanied the announcement with a snap of himself clutching a BBC News umbrella outside Downing Street, surrounded by cameras and recording equipment.
And Naga was quick to respond to the news, emotionally penning: "A change is as good as a rest (they say). I don't like what they say….
"Still, I hope you enjoy the change. I'll miss you on @BBCBreakfast x."
Dan Walker quit the show for good last week as he prepares to head over to Channel 5, while Louise Minchin left last year ahead of her I'm a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! stint on ITV.
Louise was permanently replaced by Sally Nugent, while Jon Kay has been standing in for Dan.
