Kunal Nayyar became a household name across the world thanks to his stint as Rajesh Koothrappali on CBS’ Golden Globe-winning sitcom, The Big Bang Theory. The 39-year-old starred in every episode of the hit series before it concluded in 2019 but continued to keep up to date with fans of the show via social media. However, that’s all set to change following a poignant statement from the actor published on his Instagram page.
The Big Bang Theory star has informed his followers and fans that he is planning to step away from social media.
Nayyar, who doesn’t have a public Twitter page, would regularly use Instagram as his sole source of interaction.
However, the page will now be taken over by his publicity team and not the actor himself.
Writing on the social media site, Nayyar explained: “Over the next few weeks, I will be transitioning my personal page over to my publicity team.”

He continued: “Here you will still find news on the acting/producing front, as well as an occasional random selfie of me pouting [winking emoji].
“To all of my close friends, if you need me, text me.
“And to everyone else, I love you more than words can imagine.”
The Big Bang star did admit he would still be keeping an eye on proceedings, however.
He added: “Though I will be checking in from time to time, for now, it is me saying adieu…
“And if you enjoyed my spiritual musings, if they helped bring you some joy, then do stay in touch on @buddhainjeans.”
The actor signed off his post with: “I love you [smiling emoji].”
Unfortunately for fans who wanted to reply to the actor, it appears the comments have been disabled on the post.
However, the message clearly resonated with his followers with over 68,000 ‘liking’ the post.
The photo alongside the message showed Nayyar sitting on a rock on the beach as he stares out into the sea.
Despite his exit from social media, fans may be able to see Nayyar back on screens in the near future.
The actor recently lent his vocal talents to animated Pixar film Trolls World Tour.
