Bling Empire is the latest Netflix reality hit to keep viewers across the world entertained. One of the most talked-about aspects of the show is the relationship between Kelly Mi and Andrew Gray. The former recently gave an update on their relationship.
Kelly Mi and Andrew Gray’s relationship was much-talked-about in ‘Bling Empire’ season 1
Season 1 of Bling Empire depicted the tumultuous relationship of Mi and Gray. Mi seemed to have toxic relationship with Gray, most known for playing the Red Power Ranger on Nickelodeon’s latest iteration of the Power Rangers franchise. We first got a taste of the couple’s dynamic when they. went on a trip to Paris with Anna Shay and she said Mi should not be with him.
“My God! Where do you want me to start on that one?” said Shay when asked about it in an interview. “I just felt the way he was talking to her and the way he would treat her, she would put her pride aside. I wanted to shake her. ‘Where’s your pride? Where’s your integrity? You f**ked up!’ But I couldn’t [do that].”
Kelly Mi gives a status update about her relationship with Andrew Gray
In a recent interview, Mi revealed she and Gray have been together for most of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and quarantine, despite the cliffhanger at the end of season 1.
“We’re working things out,” Mi said in an exclusive interview with ET Online. “We’re probably in a better place than we’ve ever been in our relationship. Throughout our six years of ups and downs, I think we’re in the best place we’ve ever been, just understanding each other better. Continue to go to therapy, continue to work things out, ‘cause at the end of the day, we know that true love is hard to find and the love we have for each other is unconditional.”
Mi says that she lied to her fellow cast members and said told them that she wasn’t planning on getting back together with Kevin when in reality, it was always a possibility. She didn’t tell them the truth so they wouldn’t have to deal with the drama of her personal life.
“Me and Andrew’s relationship is so up and down, we’ve been on a roller coaster, and for my friends, I think, like, [I’m] a little bit embarrassed in a sense, where I hate to have them go on this roller coaster with me,” she continued. “It’s so emotional all the time. So, I feel a little guilty. I’m like, I don’t want them to go on this roller coaster, in case it’s another dip, in case it’s another drop. At the end of the day, sometimes I’m not even ready for the drop, you know? So, I don’t hate to get my friends on this roller coaster with me.”
What Kelly Mi’s ‘Bling Empire’ co-stars say about the reconciliation
For Kelly’s friend and Bling Empire co-star, Kane Lim, he doesn’t think that Mi was trying to protect her friends by not telling them that she and Gray had gotten back together.
“I don’t think she was trying to protect anyone,” he said in the same interview. “We’re tired of it. … As a friend, I’m tired of hearing about them getting back [together].”
Still, Lim believes the couple is OK now, if only due to the pandemic. “Right now, they seem pretty stable,” he continued. “I don’t know whether it’s because of COVID, if that’s keeping them together. Maybe season 2, we’ll see another breakup.”
Bling Empire‘s entire first season is streaming on Netflix. An official season 2 renewal announcement has not come down yet.
