ZOE Salmon has opened about the heartbreaking REAL reason why no one was invited to her wedding.
The pretty presenter eloped with her long time love Will Corrie earlier this year, but today she has spoken about why not even her parents where there.
Talking to the Belfast Live the Irish star has revealed it was because her mum Priscilla was terminally ill.
The 36-year-old wed in April, and reports at the time suggested she hadn’t even told her family – which couldn’t be further from the truth.
She said: “That was the difficult thing. My parents knew all about it, they paid for our wedding.
“But mum was just too ill to be there.
“I can only really say that now because at the time mum’s illness was so private, she didn’t want anyone to know.
“People were baffled about why we’d done it, but that’s why.
“Our wedding day was lovely.
“I felt like my mum was there with me in a way because for my something borrowed she gave me her bottle of Chanel No5 and I wore it that day.
"It’s the perfume she wore her whole life and wearing it made it feel like mum, one of the most special people in my whole life, was there with me.”

Zoe, who is currently starring in Celebrity Island with Bear Grylls, said her parents were happy they had eloped: “I spoke to mum and dad after the wedding – they hadn’t known the exact day that week we were doing it, so that was the surprise bit.
“But they were thrilled for us. They’d known Will for more than five years so they were delighted.
“The main difference with our wedding and the rest of the family was that they had a party when they got home, but of course we couldn’t do that because mum was too ill to be there.
“Again, because it was all so private no one outside the family knew why. I hope now people understand.”
Zoe’s mum sadly passed away last month after a long battle with two terminal illnesses.
