Bradley Walsh breaks down in tears and sobs on TV show with son Barney

Bradley Walsh was seen breaking down in tears in an emotional scene from his new show in Costa Rica, which saw him travel with his son Barney.

The father-son duo appear in Breaking Dad, and Bradley, 62, broke down in tears after an emotional comment from his son Barney, 25, in Wednesday night's episode.

As the pair discussed their favourite moments from the trip, Barney said: "It’s more about the memories…The memories you make you doing these things, and like being with you. We are so blessed to be able to do this thing and to go around the world."

Fighting back tears, Bradley said: “I’m not upset, I find it very emotional, very heartwarming – I really do.”

The pair both agreed they were “very lucky” as they told each other they loved each other.

Speaking on The Jonathan Ross Show about his son, Bradley previously said: "Barney is the man now… that I always wanted to be. And that's absolutely true.

"He's got no fear, he's young, he's finding his first feet in business and stuff. I just always wanted to do that.

"Anything Barney wants to do on the show, I'll give it a go."

When Barney is not filming with his dad, he earns a living as a successful presenter and actor and he is fast becoming as popular as his famous dad.

Barney has previously referred to Bradley as his “best mate.”

While filming, Barney said: “You’re my dad, but you’re also my best mate, and when we stuff like this, it solidifies it. We have so much fun together, Dad. All the adventures."

Talking about Barney while on This Morning, Bradley said: “He has always been my son, and you always take care of them. But then all of a sudden he becomes your equal and a work colleague, and a mate, and someone you respect.

“Now I look up to him. Barney, bless him, was directing me on some of the things 'Dad don't worry about this, you need to be thinking about this', and actually producing me."

And despite all the time they spend together, the pair don’t appear to have any tiffs.

When asked if they’d fallen out, Bradley said: “Only out of a plane!"

The pair’s road trip series first aired in 2019 and they are currently on the fifth series.

Bradley & Barney Walsh: Breaking Dad continues to air on ITV1 and ITVX.
